My Layer Cake strategy: the playbook and every play.
My favorite LP setup on Meteora: a one-sided SOL Bid-Ask for any market. The video, the recipe, the rules I never break, and every play, newest first.
The Layer Cake 🍰 is my favorite LP setup, a one-sided $SOL Bid-Ask strategy that's proven to work in every market. In the video below I show how I layer positions on @MeteoraAG to capture steady fees, limit downside, and stay positioned through all kinds of volatility.
The recipe
It's called the Layer Cake because you build it step by step, liquidity-layer by liquidity-layer:
- Find a token with a solid uptrend and identify a solid support zone.
- Open your first one-sided $SOL Bid-Ask position. The middle of the range should be a support level on the chart.
- When price dips 50-60% into your range, add a second layer (double the size).
- Keep layering 2-3 times as the market builds structure.
- Take profits or rebalance (close the upper position) on bounces.
Tip: if you're a beginner, increase the range of your position by 100% of the bins.
Simple, repeatable, and scalable. This setup has carried me through every market cycle. The written version lives in the recipe doc.
The rules that never change
- The next layer only goes in after the price is 50 percent into the previous range.
- Every layer gets closed on a bounce, not on a feeling.
- No FOMO after a close. If the price keeps running without me, that is fine.
- Volume down, TVL down, market cap down. The cake is finished, close everything.
- I never need the perfect entry. I need structure.
What it protects you from
$TURTLE dropped -86% and I entered from the very top. Closed in profit. $world went -77% against me and closed in profit, all of it from the second layer. $STONK dumped -52% straight into the bid-ask and the bounce brought it back to my entry.
That is the part people miss. The Layer Cake is not a way to predict the bottom. It is a way to stay solvent and keep earning while the chart does whatever it wants.
The upgrades I added along the way
- A two-sided SPOT at the lower edge of the upper layer, to fill the gap between layers. It cut my impermanent loss by around 50% on the bounce.
- A SPOT layer instead of Bid-Ask when I expect the price to sit in the middle of the range for a while, like on $TOLYBOT.
- Layering across pools instead of inside one, same pair with different bin steps.
- The automated version running on @UnifaiNetwork for the weeks when I cannot watch.

This post is a living log. Every time I bake a new Layer Cake and post it on X, it gets added here at the top, so the newest play always comes first and the earliest ones sit at the bottom. Real positions, real entries and exits, including the ones that tested my patience.
